Some people need to touch and feel a paraglider to know if they want to really get into the sport.
The 1 day intro is the ideal way to get introduced into the sport as well as meet some of the Poliglide team as we typically cover the following-
– A test hang in the simulator, learning the basics of weight shift and brake steering
– Some ground handling using either full size or mini paragliding wings
– Solo flights using our state of the art tow system
The focus of the day is to create a safe training environment and offer room for people to step out and challenge themselves while being professionally guided. For this reason everyone will be focused on achieving their own personal goals at their own pace.

Just a note to let you know how impressed Naomi and I were with our “Big Day Out” the other weekend.
You took us from nothing to a tow line solo flight with a self actuated release at 500ft with such steadfast and confident leadership and instruction.
When I look back at our experience it is mind blowing. From the take-off under power from the tow line at Evans Head Airport, feeling the rush and thrust, the massive push back as the glider swung lifting into the air climbing all the way up to 500ft or so with you on the two way guiding our flight. Activating the release we feel the ‘twang’ as the harness swings back into gentle descent mode and we take control of our flight with the infinite arc of the horizon gradually flattening out with our return to earth & a last moment “flair” to a light-as-a-feather landing. A quick twist & drop & it is all over.
I would recommend this experience to anyone seriously wanting a taste of what paragliding is all about. I can’t imagine having this opportunity in one day without the equipment and experience you have. The four wheel drive cart and tow line system is just amazing and Evans Head Memorial Airport is a fantastic and relatively unique facility on the East Coast to make it all work.
My daughter and I span a good age range and at 63 years I have no problems listing this as a sport of choice for the active retirees who love a challenge.
Looking forward to the next step, more tow line flights and a graduation to the paramotor experience.

Thanks again for a fantastic 1-day introduction. I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face for days. The 1-day intro was above and beyond in terms of learning and training. To go from indoor simulators to solo flights in one day was amazing! I would recommend Poliglide to anyone wanting to get a taste for the sport. It was a great group with friendly and expert instruction. Thanks again to the guys from the local flying club for assisting with ground handling too.
I’m in the process of getting some leave early 2016 to complete the full beginners course with the guys at Poliglide. Looking forward to seeing you in 2016!
