Poliglide Paragliding and Paramotoring School is situated in the stunning Hinterland of Byron Bay, the most easterly point of Australia, on the edge of Mt Warning's ancient volcanic caldera.

The area has a perfect blend of sites for sea breeze as well as thermic sites for 100km+ paragliding flights. Our training sites are the envy of Paragliding schools around the world, summer and winter!

Paragliding Training

Andrew Polidano, owner and Chief Flight Instructor of the Poliglide paragliding school, is the former President of the HGFA and currently studies Sports Management part time at Southern Cross University which is testament to his dedication to the sport of paragliding.

With the use of high quality, current technology paragliding and paramotoring equipment as well as self paced smaller groups, training with Poliglide is the best chance you have to prepare you to enter into this amazing sport.

Paramotor Training

Poliglide's paramotoring courses excel on both a national and international level to bring training techniques and courses to Australia. Leading the way in Paramotoring training, Poliglide is consistantly improving teaching methods and raising the bar in Australia. Andrew is the paramotor representive on the HGFA Safety and Operations commitee, which is testament to his commitment to safety in the sport and peer support.

Accommodation and flights

Poliglide has some preferred Accommodation options while you are in the area doing your Paragliding or Paramotoring training. There are multiple flights into Ballina Airport which is a 5 minute drive from Poliglide head office. Melbourne, Sydney and South Australia with the major airlines and transfers can be arranged

Paragliding Safety

Poliglide is, above all, dedicated to your safety and providing a supportive learning environment throughout your Paragliding course. Poliglide 's strategy is to have 2 fully trained HGFA certified Paragliding or Paramotoring instructors on board for high glides and soaring flights, which is a clear advantage for your development as well as your sense of safety.

We understand the safer you feel and the more support around you the quicker you will learn and the more you will get out of a paragliding course. On your high glides we will have one certified instructor assisting you launch your Paraglider and guiding you every step of the way, via radio, to get you comfortably in the air. The other certified paraglider instructor will guide you through the landing phase to get you safely back on the ground.

INTRODUCING... THE MISTRAL 6 Paraglider!

The first series of the Swing Mistral 6 glider are set to arrive in May has arrived in Australia. There is currently a small size available for demo with a medium on its way, should be here in around 2 weeks. The three pilots who have tried the Astral 6 so far have all loved its superior performance and smooth handling. Contact Poliglide for a test fly.

Paramotoring News

Poliglide's aim in setting the first ever Australian long distance record back in July 2009 was to set the pace in Australia, which it achieved. Individual and team efforts in the sport are primarily aimed at expanding our skill base. As a sport we may grow personally by competing against each other. At the upcoming Event in June the 'Dam Busters' there will be opportunity for people to put machine and skill to the test!

Striving for ones personal best is a key tool to improving ones skills and Poliglide would like to congratulate Chris Atkinson for his personal achievements in this area.

Andrew Polidano Poliglide's CFI has been nominated by the Australian Paramotor community to be the Paramotor Representative on the HGFA Safety and Operations Committee. Andrew accepted the position and looks forward to assisting in the development of safety standards in Australia.

News from Swing

The Mistral 6 has been in development for some time now. It's been called the 'cousin' of the outstanding and ground breaking Astral 6. With it's similar HAT (High Acr Technology) look to it's cousin it boasts a 5.9 Aspect ratio as well as a glider ratio of 9.1... Yes 9.1.. The profile of the Mistral 6 is similar the the Astral 6 however with a longer cord the pitch has been tamed to allow a more passive feel to the glider making it suitable for 50-100 hours pilots + It comes with a EN B certification. The glider is currently at the TOP of it's class! Go Swing! yet again a market leader.

The NEW Mistral is around the corner, and orders are being accepted now for these gliders.. . The first shipment for Mistral 6 will hit Australia in May.
